Keeping American Families Together Program Announced by President Biden - June 2024

Orlando Immigration Attorney Nayef Mubarak comments on the Keeping American Families Together Program Announced by President Biden on June 18th, 2024. Attorney Mubarak explains that the program is going to affect those married to U.S. citizens as of June 17th, 2024, who have unlawful entries into the U.S. and also the children of those marriages. He also explains that to qualify you need to prove that:

  • You are married to a U.S. citizen as Jun 17th, 2024 or a step child of that marriage
  • You have been in the U.S. for at least 10 years
  • You do not have any disqualifying criminal history making you ineligible

If you are granted you would have parole for three years and you would have the ability to work. You can then adjust status assuming you meet all of the other eligibility requirements.

The program is no open yet and is still in the works and it is not known yet what it is going to be required. Attorney Mubarak advise people not to spend any money yet but start documenting the fact that you have been here for over 10 years. If possible, get documents from every month of every year you have been here. Get proof of your marriage and your relationship. Get your taxes up to date. All this is going to be necessary to help build your case.

Keep in mind that this is just an announcement. There is no program yet so be ware of scammers.
