Orlando immigration attorney Nayef Mubarak talks to Basma Alawee. Basma who left her life behind in Baghdad, Iraq, to come to the US as a refugee in 2010. She is currently the State Refugee Organizer with the We Are All America and housed at @flimmigrant, and the Co-Founder & Executive Director of WeaveTales. Basma is the recipient of the 2019 OneJax Humanitarian Award, which “honors those who have demonstrated the highest level of personal and professional integrity, have given generously and extensively to our community and have been dedicated to the improvement of human relations among diverse groups locally”.
